What do you think the perfect age to get married is?

by Isabelle on February 17, 2009

September asked:

I was just wondering because I am married and my twin is not.

Even if you have a range of years. I personally think between 25-30. That way you are done with college and into the work world for sure by 25! And then before you hit the 30’s, so you can still have a family.

I got married at 23, and even though I was a year out of college, I was unable to focus on a career path because I was so excited planning my wedding.

Random question, but I just wanted to see what people thought.

i say between 26- 33 is a perfect age, you are well settled in your career, and financial secure to start having a family.

There is no age that determines when you’ll find your soul mate! Anywhere from 20-100 yrs of age is the correct answer.

i would get married 29-35

Not sure. I think that it is different according to different situations. The age, occupation of the person you are marrying, etc would be very important. Some people don’t marry until their in their forties, while others may get married straight out of high school and still have the same quality marriage, although younger married couples may find themselves facing more financial issues.

i have asked this question before.
i got a lot of various different answers.

i think that you can get married when you think your ready but, i don’t think you should get married before your at least 20,if your younger then that you are still a teenager

im 18 now and im engaged but, i am not getting married until my 21st birthday.. me and my boyfriend have been together since i was a freshmen in high school so i think if we make it to our wedding day, were pretty much set to make it through life =D

What ever age you are financially, emotionally, and mentally capable of handling an committed relationship..that usually happens around the age of 25-30 for women and 30-35 for men (just what I notice). But it could be younger or older age range depending on the person’s goals in life. Everyone has their own timing!

Well I was married a few weeks before I turned 21… but I was already a professional photographer and he was already settled in his programming/engineering job, so we didn’t have to worry about figuring out that part of our lives still.

Since people get married young and divorce, perhaps after 25 one might began to consider being married. However, people over 30 get divorce as well. Which makes me think the age of majority is different for everyone and that is when marriage and serious thoughts about ones life might have some meaning, therefore age of marriage can vary.

I know 1 set of twins in which 1 married and the other never married. So even though twins are special and share a lot, marriage might not be for the other twin.

Some people should never get married plan and simple – those that never get married should bare no shame because I think they are just intelligent enough to know that.

i think for guys after 25 …girls are different so they can marry from 21 but I still think 25 is better

I think that if you are happy and in love and can afford to get married then that’s the right age! I have known 17 years old get married, but divorced now, so I believe its whenever you know that time is right and when you are ready to settle down!

There is no correct age to fall in love. These questions plague me every time.

o i think the right time is when you think the right time is. i say you should be at least almost done with your career.

I think after you’ve had time to do those things that you won’t get to do when married with kids, like travel, party till all hours etc.

I think any age works as long as you’ve had enough time to live for yourself and you’ve become a whole independent person who doesn’t NEED a a spouse but rather wants one. Also a lot changes after 25, that seems to be the age most people do a lot of maturing.

I was married this past summer at 28 because I finally felt secure enough as a single to become part of a couple.

melouofs March 12, 2009 at 6:18 pm

Considering only age, I’d say 28. Old enough to have been on your own a bit, young enough to not be set in your ways too much.

I married at 38, though, because it took me that long to find Mr Right. I don’t think marrying the wrong person at ANY age is a good idea.

I agree with you between 25 and 30. I think this is a time when we become more mature and start to realize what we want out of life. We can have a house or apartment, a car, a job and a stable income. To me this is the perfect time to get married.

lala March 14, 2009 at 2:46 am

well for me, the perfect time will be in 2012 and i’ll be almost 29. When i was little, i always envisioned 28/29. Even when i was little, i felt that early and mid 20’s was too young to be married.

happydays10 March 17, 2009 at 10:05 am

If you want to have a financially stable and personally rewarding life, one shouldn’t get married until after they have graduated college and have been in the working world for at least 3 years after college…..so, 25 or so.

If you want to just jump into sex every night, comfort, the easy way out, and have someone to do everything for you while forgetting about other aspects of life, get married sooner which is what the majority of people are doing getting married before they even hit 22. No surprise that more than half of marriages fail.
