“Mama” by Boyz II Men is my absolute fav for this dance.
I know it’s not rock, but you are going to have a hard time with that one.

Sunrise, Sunset from Fiddler on the Roof. The song speaks of children growing up and getting married and moving on with their own lives. Would be very appropriate for a wedding. Congratulations.

Can you think of any Elvis songs that was redone by a more modern rock band? I am sure that there are some out there. Maybe it wouldn’t sound as “mushy” if they were singing it.
Here are a few other suggestions:
In My Life – The Beatles
Simple Man – Lynard Skynard
Stand By Me – Ben E. King
There are tons of songs out there…but I know that it can be difficult to find. Perhaps your fiance can look at the CDs of his favorite bands – maybe there is something on there that they could dance to that wouldn’t be so mushy.
Good luck!!

Joshua Kadison did “Beutiful In My Eyes” and he’s kinda soft-rockish.

Rod Stewart’s “Forever Young” is a good one, a bit faster.

Bon Jovi’s “Thank You for Loving Me” is borderline romantic and is def rock.

Bad English’s “When I See You Smile” is always a classic.

Queens’ “My Best Friend” is non-traditional and a great song to get them dancing.

Hope this helps! We’re having mostly classic rock and oldies at our wedding, I hope you enjoy yours!!!

Elvis has TONS of songs that aren’t mushy. But most importantly–this is a Mother/Son dance on your wedding day. It IS mushy. If you can’t be sentimental then, when can you be? I’d pick a nice Elvis song for her.

There are a lot of sweet songs to do (I could send link after link but most that are on the list are REALLY mushy) but I personally like the idea of just doing a favorite song. My husband picked a shag song. His mother and father were always dancing to beach music around the house and that was one of his big memories. So that’s what they did and it was beautiful.

You could even get the DJ to mix a couple together if you’d like to start mushy and turn it into All Shook Up or something.
What about Good Luck Charm? Wonder of you?

This one is a jukebox that you can listen to the songs

In my experience having a band for many years, doing lots of weddings, I found a song that always went over well. Its calledThe times of your life, by Paul Anka or Kenny Rogers, Through the years. Congratulations

I ususlly reccomend that the goom lets his mother choose this song. He has all night to dance to rock selections.
